Linear regression is a statistical analysis technique used to estimate the functional relationship between two or more variables, namely between the dependent variable (dependent; response; Y) and one or more independent variables (independent variable, predictor, X). . If we only use one independent variable to predict the response, it is called simple linear regression , whereas if there is more than 1 independent variable, it is called multiple linear regression .
